TGIF is all I can say!!! It's been another one of those crazy weeks. I always have grand plans for stitching time during the week, but then stuff just gets in the way! Errands, etc. I'm sure everyone is familiar with that drill. But, I do have a finish!!!! The Mermaid Sampler by CHS, affectionately known by me as the "Sea Babe".
The Mermaid Sampler
Carriage House Samplings
32 ct. Vintage Country Mocha
DMC threads - two over two
Now, of course, my son had to make a comment about the Babe's tata's! I had thought about omitting the offending "girls", but I knew that later I'd be sorry that I didn't put them in. What is a mermaid without tata's????? He's 15 so I guess he's a little sensitive to those things. Of course, the bathroom I'm doing in the mermaid theme is the basement bathroom. And of course, who uses that bathroom the most - my son and his friends. Hmmmmm. Well, maybe they'll get a good laugh out of this - who knows.
It was a fun and fairly quick stitch. Not as quick as I would like with all the fill in, but still fun. Now it's back to Shores. I'm looking forward to the second block now. I guess I just needed a break. Although I've been hopelessly enabled by a board that I'm a member of. The same board that I'm suppose to be doing the CHS Adam and Eve sampler with. Well, they started talking about The City Stitcher's Adam and Eve, and I may have to have a go at that one too. After doing the "Babe" sampler and liking just stitching on 32 ct (whereas everything else is either on 40 ct, 35 ct or 25ct on black), I realize that I need an easy stitch too. Something when my brain and eyes don't want to get into sync. So I'm going to start this one too. Ah, the pleasures of multiple projects and the freedom to rotate!
Not too much else happening this week. I do have to thank everyone that made comments about my poor bird last week. I plan on doing a little brain surgery this week. My MIL is one of those people that buys into all those Infomercials - you know - As Seen on TV things, and recently she got sucked into the one about the glue than mends everything from skin scratches to clothing. She opted to get the package of three of this glue and gave one to me. Funny thing, this stuff actually works! So with a toothpick and a little glue, I'm going to fix my little bird.

One of the comments concerning my poor bird mentioned having a cat placed next to it and blaming it on the cat. Well, my mind went a little wild and here's the result:
Not the greatest picture, but you get the scenario. Thanks for all the comments and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

The babe is finished, congratulations, she's looking great!
The birdie and the cat - that explains it all, lol. But maybe you'll be successful with your glue. It might work.
I think I'm gonna have to stitch the babe, now that I've seen yours. When I saw your pic of the bird and kitty, I immediately thought of the Jaws music. Da-da, da-da ... lol.
OMG Deb, the cat looking ever so longingly at the bird. lol How ironic is it that the bird survives traumatic head surgery only to be completely traumatized by that dang cat? lol I saw the bird 'pre-surgery' earlier this week and you have done a wonderful job on him. As for the Babe, when I saw her on St Patty's day you weren't even half way done. YGW!! She's gorgeous (and your stitches are fabulous). Great job Deb!
I love your Sea Babe. She is beautiful. LOL about your son's reaction. I know my grandsons would be the same way.
Good luck with the surgery on the bird.
Kathy
I love your cat and bird pic, very cute!
The babe looks great, nice finish!
That is a GREAT picture, of the bird and the cat :o) I hope the bird's head can be fixed!
Oh my, I do love your Sea Babe. And you're right, she definitely should come with boobies and all. Let the boys laugh. Great finish, Deb!
I love your sea babe, Deb! I have it finished but haven't framed it. I love Kathy's mermaids! My family no longer notices mermaid boobs, or at least don't bother mentioning them to me. LOL
ROFLOL at the cat & bird pic!!
Deb, love the sea babe! Colors are gorgeous! And lol about the 15 year old and his friends! Let them get a little kick out of it! Love your cat watching the bird scenario. Hope that glue stuff works and fixes your poor bird!
Oh I love this, Deb!! Also loved the comment on the tata's...you are right what is a mermaid without them? But boys will be boys!! Also glad that your mil's new giftie is working for the birdie and I love that cute pic of the kitty!! Have a great weekend!
I LOVE the Sea Babe - she is absolutely gorgeous and congrats on your finish. I am buying no more stash so the babe will have to wait until I have stitched some of my huge and I mean huge amount of stash. Lots of Love Patti xxx
The sea babe is gorgeous!!! I just wish these designers would quit using my body as their models! Honestly!!!! If your birdie looks anything like your bunny after you fix it, it'll be gorgeous! I must now get stitching the bunny, the bird, the mermaid is tempting me and oh, the City Stitcher Adam and Eve may call me too! Just like the kitty, I'm on the hunt!
Your sea babe is lovely! Congrats on another finish. Love the snap of the injured bird w/ the cat. LOL
Love the babe!
Bad bad kitty!
Beautiful finish Deb - Tatas and all! :) I just love this design! Love the cat and bird - too cute! :)
The Sea Babe looks great and as for her tatas my family, husband and three sons, have learned to love all the boobiliousness hanging on the walls.
I'm sure my son, (and daughter) for that matter would make the same comment about the sea babe! She looks great. I love the colors and fabric.
I'm still giggling over the cat. So funny. I think you should leave it that way!
Have a good one.
Magnifique !
Bonne soirée et gros bisous
