It's Giveaway Time

First off, where did all you people come from?  My followers, that is?  I had been planning to have a giveaway when I reached 300 followers, and when my back was turned I zoomed up to 309!  Welcome to all the new people and thank you so much for following!!!!!!  I hope you enjoy reading my blog and it gives me the opportunity to find yours too or to make your friendship even if you don't have a blog.

Well, in celebration of now 300+ followers, it's time for the giveaway:

Yep, another flower frog (quilt not included).  I'll fill it with a few goodies (what - I'm not sure yet).  So here's all you have to do.

1.  You must be a follower
2.  Leave me a comment that you'd like to be entered into the drawing
3.  If you wish to blog about it you can and I'll enter you in for a second try
4.  If you post a link on your blog, I'll give you three chances.
5.  If you don't have a blog, please leave me an email address where I can find you.

I will pick a winner on Monday, July 19th.

There's not much going on at the ranch this past week or so.  Crafting has taken a back seat to a lot of things - primarily because I'm like a walking zombie with lack of sleep.  I have to thank those who offered suggestions on tackling the insomnia thing.  I'm trying them, and so far not much has helped.  The high heat around here and an ancient A/C unit doesn't help matters much either.  But I've gotten a little bit accomplished:

I started a new sampler:

The Apple Tree Sampler
Hawkins House

Please ignore the hoop marks.  I usually don't stitch in a hoop, but lack of sleep has rendered my brain unable to stitch pieces of fabric onto scroll rods or rather the patience to do it - plus the design is pretty small anyway.  How I've even stitched this far is beyond me.

On one of my more lucid days I got these done:

Four more Farmer's Wife blocks.  I was hoping to get all seven of them done, but realized that I hadn't cut out enough pieces for the other three (head slap moment), so I was going to go to Plan B - the Marti Mitchell quilt, but realized I had cut the center square of the block the wrong size!  Another head slap moment.  Luckily I had the forethought when I ordered the BOM to order some additional yardage of the fabric, so WHEW!  But I was sweating bullets for a while until I found the fabric.  But then I got no further - not one block sewn.

So that's been about it for me.  I feel like I've accomplished nothing!  I did have a funny moment this week from Kim.  Kim is Ms. Thrift Shopper Supreme.  She finds the greatest things.  One of the things that she collects are orphaned salt and pepper shakers.  When I'm out and about and I see an orphan I  always think of her and her collection and pick them up for her if I think she'd like it.  Well, I found this one recently (sorry Kim I stole the picture from your blog) and sent it out to her:

Almost immediately the box that I had sent her arrived back in my mailbox with this:

An oil can, in my box and with my note!  LOL  I really got a kick out of this.  I told her that this will be come the official mail box and note for mailing those orphans.  Kind of like a Traveling Pants kind of thing.  Thanks so much Kim - I've been searching for one in the lighter color!!!  Now, about that needle punch piece I'd like to put on it.............

Hope that everyone is staying nice and cool.  We're really going through a heat wave here in Michigan and I guess today is suppose to be the hottest day - a cool down for a couple of days - and then right back at it!  UGH!

Thanks again for all your wonderful comments and for following me.  I really am tickled each and every time I read your comments.  I know that I've met some of the most wonderful friends through blogging and always love seeing the things that everyone makes.  You're truly all an inspiration!!

Thanks for the opportunity!

How funny of you and Kim! Love the little items you sent each other. :D

I'll sit this giveaway out as i've yet to catch the flower frog bug and I know that many are just desperate for one! ;) Congrats on so many followers!

Are you eating breakfast? I recently read that making sure you do so sets your internal clock running properly so it's easier to sleep at night. May help.

Anonymous said...

Congrats for all your followers.

I love your flower frog. I hope my luck is good. I could use it as a store display here in The Stitch Store to display scissors for sale.

I have only one idea for your insomnia. That's to take Benedryl. I'm sure you've already tried that.

Thanks for showing your sampler start. It's always inspirational to other's work.

I especially love the pink and black square. My store colors are pink and black. I'm just sorry you're having so much trouble with it.

It's supposed to be 96 here in Atlanta. But I'd rather have it than cold winter temps. I'm a hot weather loving gal.

I have been following your blog in Google reader for over a year, but today I am an "official" follower. Do you know why my tiny photo shows up on some blogs and not on others? Go figure.
Please enter me in your giveaway drawing--I will post about your giveaway and put a link in it. Love that frog--it would be my first one!

Congrats on the over 300 followers! Thanks for the chance at another flower frog. :D Love your Hawkins House piece so far, and your Farmer's Wife blocks too. I wonder why you're not able to sleep. So strange. Have you cut down on caffeine or chocolate? I hope you start sleeping better soon. Love the traveling box and note with Kim! lol!

Congrats on so many followers already! I agree...where do they come from? Half never leave a comment but I see they want to pop in and check on me.

So sorry about the insomnia. Hope you find a solution soon.

Your new sampler start and the quilt blocks look lovely.

What fun to exchange the little treasures you find.

You are so generous to off the frog. I won't enter for this since I think others would get way more use out of it. Good luck to all the participants.

I enjoy reading your blog. Thanks for posting. I would like to enter your drawing. It is a great frog. Here is a link to my blog. I will have to do something so generous when I get some more followers.

Oo, Ooo pick me! =)

I've been having a tough time sleeping but I suppose that's to be expected. Cut out caffiene after lunchtime (coffee, black teas and soda). I buy Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra and that helps immensely. You have to get the Extra though because it has valerian and that makes you relaxed and tired. I drink a cup about an hour or two before I want to go to sleep and it helps knock me out. Around here, I can only find it at Target.

I'm going to blog later so I'll mention the giveaway there...

Hi Deb. I see I missed commenting on a post and you have to forgive me as I am so behind with everything including my own blog. Love your new sampler start and your latest blocks stitched together. Unusual patterns but pretty. Your story about the orphan was great! Love stuff like that between people. The spice of life. Wow, I see today you have 310followers!!! Girl, I told you we all love reading your blog. ; )
Alice
PS. Don't talk about heat. It has taken everything out of me. I have been quite unwell because of it, even too tired to use my fingers on the keyboard.

Would love a flower frog for scissors. The insomnia is something I have had for years and relented to taking prescription meds to help. I have to have sleep.
Benadryl acts weird for me. Sometimes if I take it I'm sleepy and then sometimes I'm wired to the hilt. Like today.
The quilt blocks look perfect as always. I'm going to make miss abbie a small one for starters but I'm not sure I can get those blocks cut so straight.

Hey Deb! Include me on the drawing please!:)

I think the insonmia is catching! Not really, but there are a lot of people around here that have been complaining of it. Perhaps it's the weather? It had gone on for a couple of months with my son. We finally got his schedule back on track. I had went through it and now my husband is. It's truly a pain!

Hi Deb, your give-away is really nice and I think many of your followers will be happy to win it:-)
Like you, I can't use my frame floor when I stitch a small design so I don't pay attention in the marks ( a quick blink eye to you), especially when I stitch in my bed, can you believe it...lol...how lazy I am sometimes..and yes, it is true:-)
Congratulations on your quilting blocks : the colors are nice : it is great to have many lucid days:-)
It is incredible, but I never realized that you had 328 followers : I think many people like reading your Happy Blog .
wishing you a great day,

Well gee, I guess I will have to start over...

I was wondering if you have any pattern info on the Ort Container that you posted about on June 25th? Any help would be much appreciated.

Can't wait to see what you will do with the oil can. I've been looking for one but no luck as of yet. The only one around here was my DH's grandfathers & he still uses it, can you imagine? lol Just my luck!

Love all your stitching & quilt square pics & all the gifts as well. Looks like we have similar taste!

I'd love to be entered in your drawing. I've posted about it on my blog as well.

Deb - I'd love to be entered in your giveaway. You have the BEST flower frogs! For some reason I can't see all your pictures. Do you know if it's something I'm doing wrong? We were at 102.9 yesterday here. Good Googidymoogidie! Hope the electricity doesn't go off. There's some kind of OTC sleep aid that's supposed to be terrific. I have to get the name of it - something like Adderal, but not. I'll let you know.

Hey there, Sweet Deb~ I sure hope this finds you with a good night's sleep to your credit! Nothing worse then not getting the rest you need!

I haven't been around lately, but I just really wanted to tell you how very much I love your Happy Dance finish of Sarah Seifer, don't know what it is, but I think it is so pretty!! Congrats on that finish and any others, I might have missed seeing!!

I love, love, love that flower frog, haven't seen one of those, in fact, most of what I have seen I have seen on your blog! lol I look everywhere I go, but they just don't seem to be very prevalent in these parts. I did acquire one top, and then got lucky and found a dish bottom at that wally world place that would fit! Maybe if I hold my breath and cross my fingers and toes, my luck will be good and I can win this one! I will definitely put it on my blog and I have been a follower for some time now! One can only dream...

You take good care of yourself, and know I am thinking of you!

Hi, I am very curious as to what all the goodies will be.

I have learned hot to post links in pictures. The link for this giveaway is in two places on my blog.

The picture of the frog and then a sentence, in case the picture link did not turn out correctly.
And I became a follower today.

Ohhh dear, I don't know how I came across your blog, but I'm sure glad I did. I love all of your cross stitch and also all the quilt blocks, as I do both. I have been looking for over two years for one of these flower frogs, as one of my OTHER passions is collecting scissors. LOL I would love to be entered in your giveaway, and I'm a follower. I don't want to miss anything that you post. Your antique finds are AWESOME! So glad to meet you!

131 comments - holy cow! A brief intermission from my slave-driver self to do a little blogging and get my name in your drawing just under the wire. You know you have been quite the trendsetters with the wonderful little glass pieces. I hunt for them everywhere I go.

Enjoy your week!

Boy, a person goes on vacation without a laptop and misses a whole lot of fun! Follower #300 here and leaving a comment! I love frogs (the flower kinds, not the slimey ones)
